In a follow up to my previous post, it keeps getting better and better to see what responses we can get from SIRI by posing it some different questions and crazy statements. As the weekend is coming to a close for some of us, it seems that some of us have been trying to see what kind of answers we can get from SIRI. I have seen some crazy stuff, but it seems some of us (jokingly), are trying to see if SIRI can be a real assistant in some of our affairs. Let’s take a look at some of the things that SIRI is helping us do:

It’s even funnier to see what other people can come up with. It seems though, the Siri/Apple team built the digital assistant to be this way. You can read some of the responses people are posting and the list is growing. Things like:

“Beam me up Siri” – Sorry Captain, Your Tri-Corder is in Airplane Mode

“What do you think about Android?” – I think differently.

There even seems to be a full thread going on over at MacRumors where people are posting their findings. What’s funny is, all the engineers seemed to have wanted to stick with their “geek roots” and input references to famous geek characters and movies.

New Music? Here you go.. a good friend of mine

So I saw a facebook friend asking for new music, as I had a few months back. So I had to offer someone I found late last year while working at one my temporary positions. I met a very cool guy who goes by the name of Dan Fenton. The first thing I thought of, was a guitar, but I digress. He wasn’t much of a huge talker of his band (that I heard) but he offered a few rounds of tickets to his show that he was having one Saturday night. Coincidentally, that was also the last Friday that I worked at that job. So I went to the show with no expectations. It was a little place in Nashville called the Cannery ballroom. Awesome venue, if you have never been, small but great sound!! So a few of the co-workers were there and had seen him before and highly recommended it.

Let’s just say, I was easily blown away by their sound and soul. A little southern rock and a LOT of wonderful sound. Dan has a very unique voice and the band is an amazing compliment to the Louisianan bayou music style that I was listening too. I was hooked. I think this music can round many fashions, and all sorts of people will love this music. So with nothing much left to say, I would say here is a sample, Delta by Feedback Revival

txtNationTV for your viewing pleasure

Ok, so I kind of missed this, but back on February 18th, 2011, I started back up with my co-host Allen our new show txtNationTV. We were previously No Title No Name, but that was before the Nashville flood. So we have a whole new set of ideas, and are working out the kinks, so you will see our episodes change up from time to time, but for the time being, if you want to know the latest in tech, and want someone to laugh at, and you already know me or Allen, make sure to check out our website txtnation.tv. Debra Romer raised over $11,000 in her first 12 hours!

You may remember a little name Debra Romer from this past summer’s America’s Got Talent, but in case you don’t, I’ll give you a quick idea. Debra is from Kalamazoo, Michigan, and was trying out for AGT to see if she could further her dream of a music career. When first she appeared, it was obvious she was nervous, but would change in an instant, when she got to sing. Debra stopped the audience cold and sent chills up my spine the first time I heard her. She eventually made it through many more rounds, but sadly didn’t make it to the top 10. This is not where the story stops though, her exposure on the show got her many calls and new contacts. She even started using her twitter account a lot more. Debra even created her own fan page on facebook and began to talk to her fans on a more personal level. (Even sending out autographed photos!) Soon she had enough support to put out a 7-track album titled “This was Unexpected” and also released it on iTunes. Well Debra wanted to start a new project, so she went to a fairly new idea and website called KickStarter. The idea behind KickStarter is that you have an idea or product, but you need more money than you can raise on your own, so you entice people by giving them certain “prizes” (I use the term looseley) for different levels of money pledges. Debra had and idea of $4,000 in mind, but only posted $3,000 for her idea. She was going to use the money for moving to L.A. and producing a new EP that she hopes to get off the ground with. Well she was awakened by an overwhelming response and wonderful emails this morning. She had come to find that in the 1st day of her kickstarter project, she had raised over $11,00 (and still rising). WOW, the power of internet and loving people who want to see Debra Romer, live in their hometown!!!!!!! After gathering herself up off the floor, Ms. Romer recorded this video with an update to the project:

Nashville Flood 2010

For those of you who missed out, because the national news really only gave us 15 minutes, Nashville is still flooded and working on getting everything back to normal. The federal government (FEMA) has opened things up for the thousands who lost everything. But there are still people who need help, and our local news (WSMV – Channel 4) is working on some relief, as many of the news stations and radio stations have done or are planning. Tonight WSMV is working on a relief fund with Vince Gill and friends and you can check it out here. You can also call in and donate or even text the Red Cross with “REDCROSS” to 90999. You can also the even live online.

Neha Tiwari Leaves Rad on the Web Podcast

As of the 15th of February, the beautiful Ms. Neha Tiwari left her podcast Rad on the Web. She has been previously on Tekzilla and also sometimes on Revision3′s canceled show POP Siren. She now does work on Vo1d. I wish her the best in future and also for Rad on the Web and Carlos Rodela.

She is also soon to be married.

Bank of America, JP Morgan rethinks overdraft fees

Last night, Chase Morgan and Bank of America announced a rethinking of overdraft fees. No longer will you be charged for a ‘small’ purchase ($under $10) that causes you to overdraft. If within 5 days, your account is not leveled back to zero or positive, you will then be charged $35. They also put a cap of of four overdraft in fees in one day. This totals for $140 in one day. They also have now an option to opt out of overdraft protection.

Crank 2: High Voltage – Playback Issues

Ok, so Crank 2 was released on Blu-Ray this past week (9/8/9) and Target had it on sale for $25.99. I bought it without thinking. The only problem is, I can’t play it on my blu-ray player!!!!!!!! Would have been a nice warning label on the disc to let you know that it doesn’t work. So I began to peck around and looked on the first Google link. Seems that you apparently have to be connected to the internet and also have a SD card or thumbdrive connected to the player for it to work. Now it downloads the new software and I have to agree to something from Lionsgate and the movie will work???

NO!!! I am still having issues with this thing. The menu is coming up blank, b/c all I get is the background video playing and no buttons to choose from. OR, when I do get the menus and press play, the thing goes black and all I can hear is audio. NO VIDEO. WHAT is wrong???!!!!! Lionsgate, I want a blu-ray that works!!!!

I have a Samsung BD-P1500 plugged directly by HDMI cord to my LG37blah blah blah…… Gladiator works that I just bought! AHHHH I need help!!!

Youtube charging for downloads?

Is Youtube starting to charge for downloads?? Was this just me or was this something in the news that I missed today. I started watching this video of TooHotforWords.com and there was a link below it for $0.99 for the download of the video via Google checkout. Is Youtube out of their minds??? Youtube is the king of FREE videos. Where on the face of this planet would someone pay for a FREE video?? Really?? Do you know h0w MANY YouTube downloaders there are out there. Did YouTube really think this one through??!!

If you would pay for a good, high quality version of a video, please leave a comment below, because right now, I know of no one!
